Opis produktu

ASME SB163 UNS N08825 / Incoloy 825 Nickel Alloy Tube Seamless Heat Exchanger Tube

ASME SB163 UNS N08825 is a specification for seamless, cold-finished nickel-iron-chromium tubes, commonly known as Incoloy 825 and 2.4858. Manufactured in a pickled condition to remove scale and enhance surface cleanliness, these tubes offer exceptional resistance to sulfuric, phosphoric, and organic acids, plus chloride-induced pitting and stress corrosion cracking. With added molybdenum, copper, and titanium for stabilization, they are specifically engineered for high-performance heat exchangers, condensers, and coolers operating in aggressive environments like oil & gas, chemical processing, and marine service.

The "Goldilocks" Economic Advantage

  • Cost-Effective Upgrade: It costs roughly 3.5–4.5x more than 316L, but only ~50–60% of the cost of Hastelloy C-276 or Alloy 625. It occupies the critical middle tier—used precisely when 316L is guaranteed to fail, but C-276 would be over-engineered and budget-breaking.

  • Extended Service Life: In sour oil/gas and phosphoric acid plants, its lifespan often exceeds 15–20 years, drastically reducing plant downtime for re-tubing compared to carbon steel or low-grade stainless.

  • NACE Compliance: It fully complies with NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 for sour service, eliminating the need for expensive chemical inhibition dosing in H₂S environments.

Exceptional Corrosion Resistance (Application Suitability)
Incoloy 825 is chosen for heat exchangers because it resists a wide range of aggressive media:

  • Sulfuric Acid: Excellent resistance up to 60°C in various concentrations.

  • Phosphoric Acid: Superior resistance, widely used in fertilizer production.

  • Organic Acids: Resists formic, acetic, and fatty acids.

  • Chloride Stress Corrosion Cracking (SCC): While not as immune as Alloy 600, it offers superior resistance to chloride SCC compared to 304/316 stainless steels.

  • Pitting/Crevice Corrosion: The Molybdenum content provides robust resistance in seawater and brackish water.

  • Oxidizing/Acid Chlorides: Resists pitting in sour service (H₂S) environments.

Application
These tubes are critical in severe operating environments:

  • Oil & Gas: Sour gas processing, downhole tubing, and cooler/condenser units handling H₂S and CO₂.

  • Chemical Processing: Heat exchangers in the production of sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid (wet-process), and petrochemical cracking.

  • Marine & Offshore: Shipboard heat exchangers, seawater cooling systems, and ballast water treatment units.

  • Pollution Control: Wet scrubber systems and flue gas desulfurization (FGD) heat exchangers.

  • Nuclear Fuel Reprocessing: Due to its resistance to nitric acid.
